General Provisions
This examination regulation describes the procedures and conditions for the examination of programs offered by AfterImage B.V. which have been classified in the Dutch Qualifications Framework (NLQF) and the related European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
Article 1. Purpose and Scope
- The purpose of this regulation is to ensure the quality and independence of the examination process.
- The regulation applies to all summative exams that are part of programs leading to formal certification.
Examination Committee
Article 2. Composition and Appointment
- The examination committee consists of at least three members, including a chairperson and a secretary.
- Members are appointed based on their expertise in the field and knowledge of examination procedures.
Article 3. Independence
- The examination committee operates independently of the educational process and reports directly to the management of the educational institution.
- No influence is exerted by teachers or other individuals involved in the curriculum when developing and assessing exams.
Article 4. Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensuring the quality of exams and assessments.
- Determining exam results.
- Handling requests and objections.
- Ensuring compliance with this regulation.
- Reporting on the quality of the examination process.
Exams
Article 5. Examination
- Exams are based on the learning outcomes established for the training program and assess whether candidates demonstrably master these outcomes.
- Exams may consist of:
- Written tests.
- Oral exams.
- Other forms of assessment relevant to the learning outcomes.
Article 6. Assessment Criteria
- Assessment criteria are directly derived from the learning outcomes.
- Clear assessment criteria are established for each exam component.
- Assessment criteria are known to candidates in advance.
Article 7. Validity and Reliability
- Exams are designed to be both valid (they test what they are supposed to test) and reliable (they are consistent in assessment).
- Standardized assessment tools are used to ensure objectivity.
Article 8. Results and Certification
- Candidates receive their exam results within the established time frame.
- Diplomas that can be obtained after passing one or more exams include, if the program has been classified, the indication of the established NLQF/EQF level.
Article 9. Archiving and Transparency
- All test results and other relevant documents are retained for at least six years.
- Students have the right to access their test results and assessment criteria.
- The privacy of candidates is ensured.
Objections and Appeals
Article 10. Objection Procedure
- Candidates can file an objection within ten business days after the results have been announced.
- Objections must be submitted in writing to the examination committee.
- The examination committee decides on the objection within four weeks.
Article 11. Appeals Procedure
- An appeal can be lodged against decisions on objections.
- Since AfterImage B.V. is a member of the Dutch Council for Training and Education, appeals are handled by the Disputes Committee for Private Educational Institutions, an independent appeals committee.
- The decision of the Disputes Committee will take place by means of binding advice.
Quality Assurance
Article 12. Evaluation
- An internal evaluation takes place at least once a year.
- Feedback from candidates is systematically collected.
- Evaluation results lead to improvement measures.
Article 13. Examination Quality
- The quality of the examination process is periodically evaluated by external auditors.
- These evaluations include:
- A review of the validity and reliability of exams.
- An assessment of the independence of the examination committee.
Final Provisions
Article 14. Amendments
- Changes to this regulation are communicated in a timely manner.
- Changes do not adversely affect ongoing examination procedures.
Article 15. Unforeseen Circumstances
In cases not covered by this regulation, the examination committee decides.
